Today, you will embark on a journey through time to visit two breathtaking ancient villages – Hongcun and Xidi. As the best interpretation of Huizhou’s ancient architecture, these two ancient villages are both listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, showcasing the unique charm of ancient Huizhou culture.
First, you will come to Hongcun, an ancient village in the Song Dynasty that looks like an ink painting and perfectly presents the flavor of Huizhou ancient architecture. Whether it’s the exquisite layout, chic landscape, or the unique architecture and decoration, it makes you feel like you are in a long river of history. You may remember that this place was the setting for the Oscar-winning movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, which is a testament to its unique beauty.
