Day 1: Arrival in Nanning

Upon arrival in Nanning (by flight/train), you will be greeted by our reception staff at the airport/station and escorted to your hotel in downtown Nanning. Known as the “Green City,” Nanning is a historic cultural city and a modern metropolis where the Zhuang ethnic group and other minorities live in harmony. Blessed with a subtropical monsoon climate, it enjoys distinct seasons, rare frost or snow, and moderate temperature differences, making it ideal for living and tourism.

Optional evening activity: If time allows, visit San Street and Two Lanes Historical District, a new landmark showcasing old Nanning’s history, culture, art, and folklore. Day 2: Nanning → Bama Fengshan → Baise

After breakfast, drive to Bama Fengshan (approx. 3.5 hours) to visit Sanmenhai Scenic Area (tour duration: 1.5 hours), home to the World’s Only Water-Based Tiankeng Cluster and a National Geological Museum. Take a boat tour through three skylight caves (“Three Lakes and Three Caves”), with a total area of 25,000 m² and a length of 690 meters. The cave features calm waters, ample lighting, and fresh air.
Later, drive to Baise (approx. 2 hours) to explore Haokun Lake Scenic Area (tour duration: 90 minutes), known as “East Lake” in ancient times and one of Guangxi’s Top 10 Most Beautiful Parks. Poets throughout history have praised its beauty, such as the verse: “Haokun Lake’s blue water meets the sky, reflecting green peaks and bamboo mist. A small boat carries you away, to seek Tao Qian’s Peach Blossom Land.” The Ming Dynasty chieftain Cen Yunhan’s inscription Record of Visiting East Lake on a cliff near Fenzhou Fishing Platform still survives. The lake is emerald green year-round, with islets resembling pendants in a giant green gem, framed by towering mountains.
Day 3: Baise → Jingxi
Equan Scenic Area – Gulong Grand Canyon – Jinxiu Ancient Town

After breakfast, drive to Jingxi (approx. 2 hours) to visit Equan Scenic Area (tour duration: 60 minutes), one of the Three Famous Springs in Southwest China (alongside Dali’s Butterfly Spring and Guiping’s Milk Spring). It serves as the source of the Detian Waterfall and one of the origins of the Pearl River, with year-round clear waters and picturesque surroundings.
Next, explore Gulong Grand Canyon (hiking tour: 120 minutes, includes a 25 CNY shuttle bus; rafting optional). This world-class wonder features four gorges and three caves. Hike through Gulong Gorge, the 1,180-meter Gulong Cave with stunning stalactites, underground rivers, and waterfalls, including the 68-meter Water Curtain Falls and 128-meter Gulong Waterfall.
In the evening, visit Jinxiu Ancient Town (tour duration: 30 minutes), adorned with cultural symbols like lanterns, bronze drums, and Zhuang brocade. This boutique town integrates dining, lodging, shopping, and entertainment. Enjoy a lively Zhuang ethnic bonfire party (subject to weather and group size; no refunds if canceled).
Note: Safety is paramount in Gulong Grand Canyon. Avoid chasing or crowded areas on steep, slippery paths. Follow guides and prioritize caution on bridges, wooden walkways, and rocky trails.
Day 4: Detian → Chongzuo
Detian – Mingshi – Taiping Ancient City

After breakfast, drive to Daxin Detian Scenic Area (approx. 1.5 hours) to visit Detian Transnational Waterfall Scenic Area (tour duration: 2 hours, includes a 35 CNY shuttle bus; bamboo raft: 48 CNY/person, electric cart: 10 CNY/ride optional). Asia’s largest and the world’s fourth-largest transnational waterfall, it spans the China-Vietnam border with a width of 208 meters, drop of 70 meters, and three tiers, offering spectacular views and vibrant border trade scenes.
Next, drive to Mingshi (approx. 60 minutes) for Mingshi Rural Scenic Area (includes a 30-minute bamboo raft tour; total duration: 1.5 hours). Known as “Little Guilin,” it features idyllic landscapes and has been the setting for TV dramas like The Journey of Flower. The area is also famous for its stamp-worthy scenery, as seen in the Scenery of China’s Border special stamps.
Finally, drive to Chongzuo (approx. 1 hour) to explore Taiping Ancient City (tour duration: 1 hour). Built in 1372 during the Ming Dynasty, it was reconstructed in 2018 with an 1.8-billion-CNY investment, blending intangible cultural heritage, gourmet food, and folk experiences.
Day 5: Nanning (Departure)

After breakfast, drive back to Nanning (approx. 2 hours) and visit Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area (entrance fee included; electric cart optional, tour duration: 1.5 hours). A National AAAAA Tourist Attraction, it covers 13.54 km² along the Yongjiang River, featuring attractions like the Millennium Cycad Garden, Rainforest Grand View, Orchid Garden, Zhuang Brocade Square, and the Longxiang Pagoda. Explore ancient temples, lush forests, and exotic gardens, experiencing the harmony between urban civilization and natural ecology.
Later, you will be transferred to Nanning Airport based on your departure time, concluding your delightful Guangxi journey!
