Begin your journey at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a UNESCO site where 3,000 quartzite pillars inspired Avatar’s floating mountains. Ride the Bailong Elevator (world’s tallest outdoor lift) to Yuanjiajie’s viewing platforms overlooking the “Hallelujah Mountains.” Walk the First Bridge Under Heaven, a natural stone arch spanning two peaks. After lunch, explore Tianzi Mountain’s sea of clouds from Emperor Peak. As dusk falls, visit 72 Marvelous Towers for a cultural light show amid traditional Tujia architecture.
Ascend via the 7.4km cableway (world’s longest) to Tianmen Mountain. Test your courage on the Glass Skywalk clinging to vertical cliffs, then hike the Plank Walk to the iconic Heaven’s Gate – a 430ft natural arch. Descend the 999 Steps for blessings before returning to town.

Day 5: Chengdu
Chengdu–Leshan Giant Buddha

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven about 2 hours from Chengdu to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Leshan Giant Buddha.
It is 71 meters high, with ears as long as 7 meters, the backs of its feet as wide as 8.5 meters, and even its little fingernails are higher than those of a normal person. This giant Buddha was built in 713 A.D., and is a symbol of the ancient people’s prayers for peace and prosperity, and protects boatmen from the dangers of the rapids.
You can start from the hill next to the Giant Buddha and climb up to the head of the Buddha to see it up close, then walk down the stone steps to the foot of the Buddha to enjoy the full view of it.
Day 6: Chengdu
Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding–Chengdu People’s Park–Wuhou Shrine–Old streets of Jinli

In the morning, you will go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This is not only a scientific research base for pandas around the world, but also a cozy home for more than a hundred of pandas. In the afternoon, you will step into Chengdu People’s Park to experience the unique leisure and ease of this city. Here you can order a pot of tea and take a nap or join the local people in a game of mahjong and experience the ear cleaning service.
Next, we drove to Wuhou Shrine, which is known as the “mecca of the Three Kingdoms” The most venerated memorial of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and other important Shu Han individuals. It is not only an important carrier of the Three Kingdoms culture, but also a treasure of ancient Chinese architectural and sculptural art.
As night falls, you will step into the old street of Jinli, which has ancient buildings, lots of Chengdu snacks and cuisines, and exquisite handicrafts that are lively and interesting folk performances. You will spend an unforgettable night here.
